Poem In My Book
Under this skin there's a house
In which I live and dream
It's without curtains with closed doors
With messed-up rooms and cold floors
Ticking clocks on my mantel top and where am I?
Can't go through life with my closed eyes, please open them up
All of the help and all of that love
Thinking I'm not worth that much
And when I scream to you then it's me
That's cutting something up
Come lift me up Lift me up and let me see
Let me leave the walls that I've built in me
Come let me paint new pictures, new sceneries
and won't you come with me
Let's write a poem in my book
See, I'm not half the girl you see in me
I'm just scared of what could be
To take a chance, to be happy again
I've got it all it's all in me
Give me some paint to decorate these empty walls
Give me some hope, some honesty come hear my call
Go wrap me up in something that's warm and surreal
Go down new streets and light up the days and let me feel
Come lift me up Lift me up and let me see
Let me leave the walls that I've built in me
Come let me paint new pictures, new sceneries yeah
and won't you come with me
Let's write a poem in my book
Let's write a poem in my book
Let me feel just let me be
Let me climb these walls so I can see...
Let's write a poem in my book
